HTNC chair, Morag Warrack, attended the NATIONAL EMERGENCY briefing in Westminster on the 27th of November, along with fellow councillor Mark Francis and over a thousand MPs and other leaders. A brief summary was shared with members at the December meeting.
The UK declared a Climate and Nature Emergency on May 1st 2019; the first country in the world to do so, but sadly things are not improving fast enough.
The National Emergency Briefing was also attended by HDC’s cabinet member for Climate Action and Nature Recovery, Cllr Colette Blackburn, and Sussex Green Living’s CEO, Carrie Cort.
