20’s Plenty – Survey

Horsham Trafalgar Neighbourhood Council is consulting residents in its area as to whether or not they would support a 20mph speed limit in the locality.

The area we are considering for this is the full length of Rushams Road and Merryfield Drive/Redford Avenue with all associated roads.

Entry points to this area from North Parade, Warnham Road and Guildford Road/Bishopric would be Redford Avenue (From Warnham Road junction), Trafalgar Road (From Dog and Bacon), West Parade (From the traffic lights), Rushams Road (At both ends), Blunts Way (From North Parade junction), Merryfield Drive (From Guildford Road junction).

It is not proposed to include the “cul de sac“ roads as generally the speeds here are low, but if there is strong support from residents in those roads we will look to include them.

Residents from within the Horsham Trafalgar Neighbourhood Council area are eligible to respond to the survey.

This can be done here online

Please encourage your neighbours to let us know what they think.

Blueprint Neighbourhood Plan: The People’s Plan

As members of valued local community groups, may I please draw your attention to the Blueprint Neighbourhood Plan which after seven long years of hard work by local people, has finally been passed through all the required stages to now be put to a public vote.

The people of Horsham town are now invited to choose whether or not to accept Horsham’s “Blueprint Neighbourhood Plan”.   The Plan, which was created over many years by local residents, workers and visitors, will designate 23 specific areas within Horsham Town as ‘Local Green Spaces’ and will also ensure that green corridors (such as the Riverside Walk) are maintained for people and wildlife.  The plan does not allocate sites for housing development but includes many important policies such as providing affordable homes and keeping Horsham a distinctive market town.

So please make all opinions count by using your vote on 20th October, as local people of all ages and with diverse politics and interests have genuinely worked hard together for many years to produce this offering, our Blueprint Neighbourhood Plan.

The Blueprint Neighbourhood Plan  can be viewed in full on the HDC website.

✔️ You can attach purse bells to your zip for an audible deterrent, which can be purchased online
✔️ Don’t leave your bag unattended or hanging from a pushchair, mobility scooter or walking frame
✔️ Don’t leave you purse, wallet or phone in your rear pocket

Please report any incidents of theft to us on 101 of online at https://www.sussex.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/ Enjoy the rest of your week

Neighbourhood Warden’s Community engagement/events/meetings

The Neighbourhood Wardens had their “Meet the Wardens” Drop-in sessions at Horsham Library this month and it was a resounding success.  They were able to signpost Horsham residents to various services, charities and events and ensure they are accessing all support and help available to them. Their next date is Wednesday 27th March at 11am. Please do go along and say hello!

The Neighbourhood Wardens also provided a drop-in at the Community Fridge which takes place at the Methodist Church on London Road and aims to reduce food waste by offering it to the community. The Wardens took resources and spoke to both attendees and staff about the Neighbourhood Warden role and services and charities available. https://faredivide.org.uk/horsham/
