A celebration Walk to mark coming out of lockdown is planned to begin at 10.00 am on Saturday 11th September.

We hope that you, your family and friends (and dogs) will be able to join us.

The Walk will start and finish at New House Farm, in Old Crawley Road, where the owner has been very helpful in allowing us to park cars. Conveniently, the farm is on the route of the 13-mile circular Walk around the town. We will be walking the route clockwise.

Open to walkers and runners of all ages, there is no charge to join in. There were 320 participants in 2019, many accompanied by their dogs.

This year, the walk will be led by Jill Shuker, an experienced leader well-known to local walkers. Jill has been an organiser and supporter of the event since 2014.

Not everyone will walk the total length and to help, a free mini bus will wait at agreed points to transport walkers back to the car park.

Those taking part will have an opportunity to donate to the local branch of the charity, Parkinson’s UK.

The event is of course subject to any Covid restrictions that may apply at the time.

Of course the route of the Riverside Walk is open all year round and we are pleased that a great many residents have been using it for their allowed exercise during lockdown.
